Our Story...

Las Palmas Restaurant in Antigua, Guatemala started around the year 2000, as a small hostel and cafe called Van Gogh.  After a few years, it became Las Palmas Restaurant and by repurposing the hostel, we succeeded in increasing our capacity from 60 patrons, to the current 120.

In 2012, we implemented a bar and stage for live music.  Our music genre included jazz, trova, bolero and Bossa nova.

We soon realized that our diners desired a musical atmosphere that also provided dancing after enjoying their meals with family and friends. To our music we then included salsa, merengue, and bachata, which brought the fun and entertainment to new heights.

Sadly, 2020 brought a pandemic which has seriously affected our beloved Antigua, Guatemala and the rest of the world.

Las Palmas will persevere until we are once again able to dance to the rhythm of our musical favorites: La Sociedad Secreta y Los Friends!

Thank you to all our loyal friends for including Las Palmas in your enjoyment and fond memories!
